Qualifications:

 

     1. High School Diploma

  1. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.

 

Reports to: Teacher/Principal

 

Functions: To help the teacher provide a smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources materials.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Assists with lunch, snack, and clean-up routines.
  2. Assists with wash-up and toilet routines.
  3. Assists the students in such tasks as putting on and taking off of outerwear, moving from room to room, using the restrooms, etc.
  4. Under supervision of a licensed teacher, prepares for classroom activities.
  5. Performs minor clerical work.
  6. Assists teachers with classroom activities.
  7. Assists teachers in duties relating to the supervision of student activities (assemblies, field trips.etc.)
  8. Participates in inservice training programs.
  9. Checks and records student attendance.
  10. Distributes and collects workbooks, papers, and other materials for instruction.
  11. Collects and records collection of money.
  12. Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students.
  13. Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by teachers.
  14. Keeps bulletin boards and other classroom learning displays up to date.
  15. Operates equipment used in the classroom.
  16. Assists students in the library or media center.
  17. Move between and within various district offices and buildings.
  18. Carry on conversations in person and to communicate via telephone.

New hires will need current clearances (less than one (1)) year old to apply:

  2. Act 34 PA Criminal History Check:  Act 34- PA Criminal History Check
  3. Act 114 FBI Fingerprint Clearance:  Act 114- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI Fingerprinting)

You will be required to submit evidence of a medical examination made by a physician of your choice and at your cost to include a negative TB test result before you are permitted to begin work.  Both the medical examination and TB test result must be less than one (1) year old.
